Long time no see.

It's been a long while since i've posted here. UDE is long gone from the rear-view mirror of the VS scene and we're still knocking them out of the park. I've been serving as a Council member representing the VS community but on occasion we have ourselves some fun.

Most recently it was the introduction of the "block" format.

Now with the advent of UDE's demise regarding just about any CCG they have ever touched, golden silver and modern ages seem a tad silly seeing as they were designed to rotate into new sets.

Origins Block (The first 6 sets)
Marvel Origins w/ X-Men vs. Brotherhood Starter - 220
DC Origins w/ Batman Vs. Joker Starter - 165
Web of Spider-Man w/ Spider-Man Vs. Doc Ock Starter - 165
Man of Steel - 165
Marvel Knights - 220
Green Lantern Corps w/ Batman Starter - 248
Total: 1183 (1290)

Crisis Block (The second 6 sets)
The Avengers w/ Fantastic Four Starter - 248
Justice League of America - 220
The X-Men w/ X-Men Starter - 252
Infinite Crisis - 220
Heralds of Galactus - 220
Legion of Super-Heroes - 220
Total:1380 (1487)

Legend Block (The last 6 sets, excluding MEV)
Marvel Team-Up w/Hellboy Essentials Collection - 275
World’s Finest - 220
Marvel Legends w/The Coming of Galactus - 297
DC Legends - 273
Marvel Universe - 330
Total: 1395 (1502)

Legal in all Blocks:
Age of Apocalypse (MAA) - 27
Marvel Exclusives (MEX) - 20
DC Exclusives (DCX) - 27
Marvel Ultimates (MUL) - 36
Marvel Equipment (MEQ) - 24
Total: 107

MEV has proven to be a tough set to adress. Energize immediately opened up a turn 3 win, and cards with effects while shifted are completely unstoppable.
No really.
They are completely un-negatable. I mean sure if a few sets continued, we'd have invariably have been given certain answers, silver bullets or whatever the case demands, but between completely overpowered cards and new keywords breaking games wide open, It's no wonder it was UDE's final set.

Frankly, I suppose i should be thankful the set was at least mostly balanced with itself. As sealed play is still quite enjoyable.

Needless to say, the council decided not to bother including it into the block format. And for the most part, the player base agreed.

Also it's worth noting that we have developed a Bizarro World solution for those of you wondering what effect text to use.

Golden Age
[Marvel Evolution Text]

Flip only if you control a Revenge Squad character.
Revenge Squad character cards in your hand have shift.

At the start of the recovery phase, put a cosmic counter on each non-stunned cosmic character you control.

[Heralds of Galactus Text]

When you flip Bizarro World, exchange the positions of Bizarro World and target ongoing plot twist an opponent controls.

Finally, we’re encouraging fan set creators to create their own Bizarro World texts to accomodate their sets. The MFA crew has provided us with theirs.

With my new Job i have once again the free time to ramble on about life, this strange game that defies death, and the local card scene goings on. Stay tuned.

And with this post, you can officially consider me back.
